• Bassanio, a nobleman with financial trouble, needs to borrow money in order to compete for the hand of Portia. His friend Antonio borrows the money from Shylock, a Jewish moneylender.
• Portia?s father?s will states that whoever wishes to marry her must solve a series of riddles or agree to remain a bachelor. Bassanio manages to solve them, much to Portia?s delight.
• Antonio is unable to repay Shylock. Shylock locks him up and demands a pound of his flesh for repayment.
• Antonio?s case is tried in court, where it is decided that Shylock cannot cut up Antonio. Shylock loses half his wealth and must convert to Christianity.
• Portia and Nerissa testify against Shylock in his case while wearing disguises. Antonio is released and his wealth restored.

Nanki-Poo has banished himself from the little town of Titipu because he is hopelessly in love with the beautiful young lady, Yum-Yum. Yum-Yum however, is engaged to her guardian, Ko-Ko. Upon learning that Ko-Ko has been condemned to death for the crime of flirting, Nanki-Poo returns to Titipu to claim Yum-Yum?s hand. After an odd turn of events, it turns out that Ko-Ko has not only been reprieved of his death sentence, but has earned a promotion to the post of Lord High Executioner. Unfortunately, he is not a big fan of killing people. With the Mikado of Japan becoming increasingly annoyed at the lack of executions taking place, Ko-Ko makes a deal with Nanki-Poo. He allows Nanki-Poo to marry Yum-Yum for one month, as long as he is executed after that month. Due to an unhappy curse, King Sextimus is unable to speak. Meanwhile, his terror-of-a-wife, Queen Aggravian, has taken over control of the kingdom. Most importantly, in an attempt to keep Prince Dauntless single, she has decreed that only the princess that can pass her test may marry her son. Further, no one else in the kingdom may marry until Prince Dauntless does. Lady Larken and Sir Harry are extremely disturbed by this fact since Lady Larken is now pregnant with Sir Harry?s baby. Luckily, Sir Harry is able to find an amazing princess, Winnifred the Woebegone. She instantly catches the attention of Prince Dauntless, and in the end, is able to pass the Queen?s supposedly impassable sensitivity test. When the Queen still tries to prevent the Prince Dauntless from marrying, he tells her to ?shut up? which ends up breaking the curse on the king. Now able to speak, King Sextimus regains his rightful position as leader of the kingdom, and all is well.
